There’s no Business Like Real Estate

by on June 15, 2010

Don’t let anyone EVER tell you any different, there is truly NO business like the Real Estate business.

Technically it is FRAUGHT with peril. High emotions, big money, large upside potential. After closing three real estate deals in 5 days I KNOW this is true. I understand, now, why so many of my coaching clients were inclined to take a nip at the old bottle from time to time.

With all that said, though, it is truly a blast. Helping a client, or clients, purchase their home is really quite rewarding. Making sure that it is as close to perfect as possible when they walk in is second to none in terms of a goal. I had the pleasure of doing that for my clients on a little house in downtown San Jose and they really appreciated it. I made sure there was a note and bottle of champagne waiting for them when they stopped by to pick up the keys. Then I helped them get rid of a satellite dish that the sellers refused to deal with as well as a hot tub. 5 hours later the house looked totally different and then I had house cleaners come by and spruce up the place. Boy, did they leave it looking spectacular and to top it off the other agent thanked me for making the transaction a smooth and enjoyable one.

There’s the other client who’s getting a definite fixer upper at a great price. He knew what he was walking in to and he thanked me today for making it such a smooth process. That was in large part due to an awesome agent on the other end. She did a great job. I better be sure to get her some flowers or something because neither of us is getting paid very much on that one!

And, let’s no0t forget the tenant who actually got to purchase the home she was living in at a great price and she is going to have a great home to raise her daughter in for many years to come! She is so happy to know she has some stability in her life.

Next up are two awesome couples who have purchased new construction. We did the preliminary walk-through today and do the final next Tuesday. They are getting pretty excited and the other couple that is racing to see if they can be in before their wedding next weekend. I don’t think that’s going to happen but you never know.

Anyway, next time you see a Realtor go out of you way to thank them for doing a great job of keeping the economy moving and making sure that LOTS of people are happy in their new homes this spring. It just couldn’t be done with out them!
