Fall is my favorite time of year. Perhaps it’s the sense of things to come, Halloween parties and trick or treat’ers, Thanksgiving with all it attendant good food and wonderful company or the knowledge that Christmas is just around the corner.

Whatever it is, I Love It!

This year, like many others I start to think about a party for friends to celebrate Oktoberfest or should it be Halloween. I have new recipes I could unveil for either. I also start to think about my annual Christmas party, thinking of what theme I should consider.

I’m also planning to barbeque my Thanksgiving turkey this year. My uncle Ejner used to do that every Thanksgiving and to this day I think those were the best turkeys I EVER tasted. Now I need to discover if that is true for myself.

Then, of course, there is my day after party for all my buddies. If we go to our folks on Thanksgiving day then I will only have to make one dish, if we do not then I will be cooking two incredible meals in two days. Phew! Have to figure this out soon! Whatever happens I’ll roll with it and be happy. You can count on that.

There’s fall planting and working on Christmas presents for friends and clients to consider and a toy drive for the local Association of Realtors that I want to help with in a big way this year. Have to start planning that NOW. Eeck! And a food drive for one of the local food banks that’s really hurting right now. Must do that soon.

And somewhere along the way I still have to show properties (in the dark!) and write offers and keep the house clean and all the rest. That’s part of what makes it so much fun. How to do it all and still stay sane.

Good news, I have help from my awesome hubby, my wonderful daughter and my delightfully wonderful friends and extended family. They are the glue that holds it all together and for that I am always grateful.

By George, I think I’ve got it. The reason I love this season so much is that I’m reminded, always, of all the many blessings I have and all the things that I truly am grateful for.

Hope you take the time to realize all the things that you are grateful for, as well!

Cheers and Bon Appetit!
