Do you really need DEET???

by on August 8, 2009

There are many questions about the summer garden—like, “How did that weed grow 6 feet tall in one week?”—but we think we’ve got at least one nailed down. If we’re tackling those man-eating weeds and we’re suddenly attacked by ticks, mosquitoes, flies, and gnats, what will we do? We’re not fans of DEET, but we’d like to keep most of the blood in our veins.

Eureka! BugBand to the rescue.

BugBand, a DEET-free insect repellent made from Geraniol (a geranium oil extract) and other plant-based ingredients, is available in three forms: a plastic wristband, spray lotion, and towelettes. We’ll probably go for the wristband, since it’s supposed to be effective for 120 hours. And it certainly can’t take us that long to weed the asparagus patch. Can it?

Arm yourself with BugBand before you head out to do battle.
